Handwoven custom wool rug

This custom wool rug was created for a private client in Budapest. Crafted entirely by hand, it combines natural materials with traditional weaving techniques to ensure lasting beauty and durability.

Woven with thick wool weft yarns on a cotton warp using a special handwoven doublé technique, the rug is fully reversible — similar to a kilim, but thicker. What’s more, the reverse side features an inverted color scheme, allowing the rug to be flipped based on mood, taste, or season.

This artisanal weaving method gives the rug a substantial texture and timeless appeal — designed to be enjoyed and lived with for generations.
