Launching the VANDOR studio ® Blog Series

This article marks the starting point of the VANDOR studio® home textile blog – a space where quality, thoughtful design, and textile expertise take centre stage. With this introduction, I’d like to explain why we decided to launch this blog, what kind of content you can expect, how often we’ll publish, and who is behind the keyboard.

Why start a blog as a textile artist?

Sustainability is a word we hear everywhere these days. It’s become a buzzword, often flaunted more than practised. But what’s rarely mentioned is this simple truth: we would do far more for the planet if we simply bought less, and bought better – products that truly last, regardless of whether they’re labelled as sustainable.

Is that a provocative idea? – Possibly.
Is it true? – Absolutely.

And why do I care so deeply about this? Because as a textile designer and artist, I see that basic knowledge about fabrics and the textile culture that surrounds us is slowly disappearing. This blog was born from a desire to fill that gap – to share everyday insights into the world of woven materials and help you recognise quality with more confidence.

What Is the Blog’s Purpose?

The aim of this home textile blog is to educate, inform, and inspire. It’s a space where you’ll find useful knowledge, cultural insights, and practical advice related to textile design and everyday living with beautiful, long-lasting home textiles.

You’ll learn about the artistry behind weaving, the hidden tricks in different techniques, and the potential in each type of fibre. Occasionally, I’ll take you behind the scenes at the studio, and when the question arises – I’ll help you choose the right textile for your home. Ultimately, I want to help people buy more consciously, take better care of the things they own, and value the work of skilled makers.

Through this design and textile blog, I also hope to encourage you to support local creators who deeply understand their craft – because that’s where true quality begins.

Who Is This Blog For?

This blog is for those who:

  • Prefer well-made, long-lasting products over fast-consumption trends.
  • Want to make informed decisions when purchasing home textiles.
  • Are interested in how to care for their textiles so they remain beautiful and useful for many years.
  • Appreciate thoughtful design and how textile trends reflect changes in everyday life.

And it’s also for those who are simply curious. Curious about a different approach, about what lies beyond mass-produced products and factory-standard design. If you’ve ever experienced that the cheapest option can sometimes be the most expensive in the long run – you’re in the right place.

How Often Will New Posts Appear?

We aim to publish a new article every 7–10 days, meaning 3 to 4 posts per month. We’re committed to delivering well-researched, read-worthy content in plain, everyday language, focusing on clarity and value.

Who Writes the Blog?

All blog posts are written by me, Krisztina Vándor, textile designer and founder of VANDOR studio®. I am responsible for the design and production of every product in our collection.

Why do I write them myself? Because these articles contain specialist knowledge – based on both formal education and years of hands-on experience – that I believe should be translated into an approachable, everyday tone.

While each post goes through several rounds of editing, authentic, useful insight is always the foundation.

How Can I Stay Updated?

Whenever a new article is published, we share it on our social media channels – Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. But if you’d prefer to receive updates directly, you can subscribe to our newsletter and get the newest blog posts sent straight to your inbox.

Please note: Gmail may place the newsletter in the “Promotions” or “Updates” tab. If you find it valuable, you can easily move it to the “Primary” tab to never miss a post.
